Your Dog and Winter

It’s wintertime and you’re likely preoccupied worrying about your house, whether or not the CO2 monitor on your homesecuritysystem.com alarm is working and whether or not your pipes are going to freeze, but what about your dog? Here are a few common winter issues you’ve got to keep in mind when this time of year rolls around
Skin Issues: Many dogs have dry skin to begin with but winter only exacerbates the issue. Try not to bathe your dog too much and when you do use conditioner to ensure his skin’s moistened.
Cold Weather: Many people assume that since dogs are already wearing “fur coats’ they don’t really get cold. That’s not true! Particularly for smaller dogs, freezing weather can be extremely dangerous so invest in a coat and even fur boots if necessary and spend some time indoors.
CO2: Carbon monoxide isn’t just a people problem, it can really hurt dogs, too. If you suspect you may have a leak or even if your home’s older get a detector installed or consider getting an alarm that tests for the gas.
